Robert Sullivan, Board Chair

Robert C. Sullivan is President and Chief Executive Officer of Believers Stewardship Services (BSS), a nonprofit that helps Christians accomplish their financial and estate planning goals. Previously, Rob was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where he had worked as an Information Security Officer and then as an Information Risk Officer. In 2003, Rob founded Christian Evidences Ministries, an apologetics-based ministry that equips Christians to be "ready to give a defense to everyone who asks a reason for the hope that is within" (I Peter 3: 15). Rob is also involved in various charitable organizations and serves on the boards of a number of ministries, including Board President of Associates for Biblical Research, a professional archaeological society, and Vice Chairman of Emmaus Bible College located in Dubuque, Iowa. Rob makes his home in Yonkers, New York, with his wife Susie.

Hunter Howard, Vice Chair

After managing his own CPA firm, Hunter served as a member in the South Carolina House from 1974 to 1982, was appointed Chairman of the SC Tax Commission by two governors, and served as President and CEO of the SC Chamber of Commerce. He joined Scott and Company CPAs in 2008 and currently serves as their Upstate Managing Partner. Hunter has received numerous awards including the Order of the Palmetto and the Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award from the SC Association of CPAs. He served as chair of the National Council of State Chambers and currently serves on a number of boards and councils including the Greenville Hospital System, Greenville Area Development Corporation, Chair of Greenville Tech Foundation, and Treasurer of SC Higher Education Foundation. He resides in Simpsonville, SC, with his wife Martha. They have four married children and seven grandchildren.

Ken Breivik, Executive Director

Ken is the President of Nehemiah Communications, and also serves as Executive Director for School Ministries. He has extensive knowledge in public relations and specializes in professional communications services to ministries and nonprofits. A former Southeast Regional Director of Charles Colson's Prison Fellowship Ministries, Ken also previously served as the Director of Carolinas for Justice Fellowship after serving three years as a nationally awarded State Director. Ken has extensive experience working with government-appointed task forces to promote basic pro-Christian values. He resides in Columbia, SC with his wife, Penni, and they have two sons, Luke and Matthew.

Miles Coleman, Secretary

Miles is an attorney practicing primarily in the areas of appellate advocacy and First Amendment law. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, current and former State Governors and federal elected officials, public and private universities, death row inmates, churches, and charitable entities. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers™ and Best Lawyers in America™ for his practice in the areas of appellate law, First Amendment law, and commercial litigation. Mr. Coleman serves as the chairman of the South Carolina chapter of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy and as a board member of Reaching and Teaching International Ministries. Mr. Coleman is a Blackstone Legal Fellow, a Washington Fellow of the National Review Institute, and a graduate of Leadership South Carolina. He lives in Greenville, South Carolina with his wife and four children.

Cindi Brodhecker, Board of Directors

Cindi brings years of experience in ministry and business. She served as President of Faith Travel Development and Consulting after working in the travel industry as a Business Development Manager and International Tour Manager. With family roots in Greece and Germany, countries rich in religious history, it was easy for her to connect travelers who were planning their personal vacations with faith-based trips. Cindi has served on multiple boards during her career in travel. These include the Advisory Board for the World Religious Travel Association and the Board of Directors of Associates for Biblical Research, Ritter Tours/Elite Coach, and Faith Travel Association. Cindi and her husband have been involved in their local church as youth leaders, and she has also served on mission committees, in women’s ministry, and leading a ladies' Bible study. She and her husband, Dennis, have been married 52 years and have two grown daughters, Danielle and Joelle. They make their home in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.

Laura Garner, Board of Directors

Laura is the Executive Director of Christian Learning Centers of Augusta.  She has been working to expand and develop more Released Time Bible Education programs in Augusta, Georgia for over 12 years. Since Laura joined work with CLC of Augusta, it grew from serving 4 schools (200 students) with approximately 65 volunteers, to 10 schools (900+ students) with approximately 165 volunteers.  Released Time took a bit hit from the pandemic, but CLC of Augusta is building back and currently serving 7 schools (500+ students weekly) and approximately 80 volunteers.  Prior to joining CLC of Augusta, Laura was Program Director for Full Circle Refuge, a ministry serving at-rise youth in Augsuta with a focus on gang intervention.  Laura graduated from Liberty University with a multidisciplinary degree in Criminal Justice and Business Management.  She has lived in Augusta for 36 years and has 4 children and 6 grandchildren.  Previously, Laura homeschooled her 4 children for a total of 20 years while teaching Sunday School classes, serving in Girl and Boy Scouts, AWANA leadership, and leading women's Bible studies.  She worships with Warren Church and enjoys finding ways to serve in between work, family and a love of the outdoors.

Cheryl Self, Board of Directors

Cheryl Ennis Self, ACFRE, is the Founder of Funding for Change. Cheryl previously served at World Vision for 16 years in a variety of positions, most recently as Executive Director, Global Social Partnerships. Prior to that, she served at Prison Fellowship Ministries as National Director of Advancement, and with The Stony Brook School as a Faculty member and Interim Director of Development. In 2013, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) awarded Cheryl with the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive Credential (ACFRE). As an accomplished business consultant, Cheryl has acted as a strategic partner to startups, mid-sized organizations, and Fortune 100 corporations. She is an expert in guiding organizations through the challenges of fundraising and development, with a strong focus in nonprofits, NGO’s, corporations and government entities. Cheryl resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She has two children and five grandchildren.

Matt Sharp, Board of Directors

Matt serves as senior counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, where he focuses on state and local legislative matters. Since joining ADF in 2010, Sharp has won cases upholding the rights of students to form religious clubs, invite classmates to church, and even perform a religious song at a school talent show. He authored an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of nearly 9,000 students, parents, and community members asking the Court to uphold students’ right to privacy against government intrusion. Sharp has testified before the United States Congress on the importance of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. He has authored federal and state legislation, regularly provides testimony and legal analysis on how proposed legislation will impact constitutional freedoms, and advises governors, legislators, and state and national policy organizations on the importance of laws and policies that protect First Amendment rights. Matt and his family live in Atlanta GA.

Dr. James Swezey, Board of Directors

Jim is on the faculty at Liberty University in Virginia where among his duties he teaches courses on the history and philosophy of education, education leadership, and qualitative research. He received his doctorate in Educational Leadership from George Fox University. Over the past 20 years, he also served as a pastor with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, a high school Bible and history teacher, and a Christian school administrator. He has served on several accreditation teams, conducting program evaluations for the Association of Christian Schools International. He is a regular presenter at leading education research conferences and regularly publishes articles related to K-12 and higher education in peer-reviewed journals. He hails from Forest Virginia and is married to Jolene and they have three adult-aged children.

Dr. Milt Uecker, Board of Directors

Milt is the director of the Lowrie Center for Christian School Education at Columbia International University. He has worked within elementary schools and teacher education for more than 40 years. Prior to joining the faculty of CIU in 1995, Dr. Uecker served for four years as an associate professor at Regent University, where he directed the early childhood program. Milt’s professional experience includes teaching within an International School in Seoul, Korea and administrating early childhood programs in both Texas and Virginia. Dr. Uecker and his wife Linda live in Fort Mill, SC and have three sons and eight grandchildren.

Adele Little, Director of Development

As part of the Vision 3:1 Strategic Plan, Adele Little joins the team as Director of Development. Adele received a BA in Marketing from Mercer University and went on to work in the business sector as a marketing director, sales representative, and account manager. She transitioned to non-profit and ministry work in 2005, serving in positions such as instructor, program coordinator, development director, and organizational director.

She and her husband, Tod, live in Blythewood, SC and have two married daughters and a grandson.  Adele’s life focus is advancing the gospel and making disciples.

David M. Beasley, Board Member Emeritus

David served as Governor of South Carolina from 1995-1999. Earlier, he served as a member of the SC House from 1979-1993. During his term as Governor, he led delegations on economic development and trade missions throughout Asia, Europe, and Africa. Following his term, he served as a fellow at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. In 2003, Gov. Beasley received the prestigious John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for his stand on removing the Confederate Flag from atop the SC capitol. In 2005 he partnered with his former Chief Legal Counsel, Henry L. Deneen, to incorporate the Center for Global Strategies, Ltd. The Center focuses on developmental initiatives in the non-integrated world. Currently, he serves as its Board Chair. He resides in Society Hill, SC, with his wife Mary and they have four children.

Avery Hilton, Board Member Emeritus

Avery recently retired after working 43 years in the steel industry. His most recent position was Executive Vice President of Steel Mills for Commercial Metals Company. Avery also served as President of the Electric Metal Makers Guild and as a trustee of the Association of Iron and Steel Technology Foundation. Avery was a board member for the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and on the board of the Midlands Christian Learning Center. He is an elder on the session of Northeast Presbyterian Church and is an associate member of the Fairfield Mountains Chapel in Lake Lure, NC. He and his wife Lorraine reside in Columbia, SC. They have two sons and a daughter, plus three grandchildren.
